Novel lookback at women’s magazines
Really enjoying this unusual approach to women’s magazines of 70s-90s. At once both nostalgic & entertaining; presenters are clearly enjoying themselves as same time as taking a close look at social mores then & now

Fascinating insight into pre-internet culture
Hilarious and nostalgic
I love this pod. It’s such a great throwback to the nostalgic, if sometimes ridiculous, content of the women’s mags I read growing up and remember my mum having to take on holiday when I was a child. They felt so glamorous and now the irreverent contemporary debunks from these guys are a friendly ribbing that they all probably deserve. Funny but not sneering and all round good material. Hard recommend.
A must-listen for women’s mag readers!
Have really enjoyed the episodes so far! It’s like being part of a book club with friends where I don’t have to worry about someone picking something insanely pretentious, but the discussions are still interesting and thoughtful. A super fun way to explore the recent past and understand what the big issues of the day in past decades were. Kudos to the presenter who asked her mum just how liberating the pill was!
Loving the social history
This is my first listen of MagHags and it happily it won’t be my last. Loving Franki and Lucy’s Cosmo commentary and can’t wait to get to my own mag-reading teenhood in the 90s. Excelllent pod.
